We are proud to announce that David Bedgood has joined Wynne, Smith & Young as our newest associate attorney. A Sherman native and third-generation member of the community, David earned his Juris Doctor from Texas Tech School of Law, where he graduated in the top ten percent of his class and was inducted into the prestigious Order of the Coif. While attending law school, David clerked with us, gaining invaluable experience and insight into the legal profession, and we are thrilled to now welcome him to our team as a full-time attorney.

Upon receiving his bar results, David was admitted to the State Bar of Texas by taking his Attorney’s Oath and was sworn in by the Honorable Amos L. Mazzant, III, United States District Judge for the Eastern District of Texas, on October 9th. David had previously interned for Judge Mazzant during the summer of 2022, where he gained valuable insights into federal court procedures, developed his legal research and writing skills, and observed complex litigation processes firsthand. This experience deepened his understanding of the judicial system and prepared him for his career as a practicing attorney.

David’s commitment to excellence was evident both during his time with us and throughout his academic career. As an exceptional advocate, David participated in multiple mock trial and moot court teams and earned the “Top Gun” award for the best advocate in his second year. His strong work ethic, shaped by his experiences as a collegiate athlete at Tulane University, along with his dedication to serving the people of Grayson County, makes him a tremendous asset to our firm.

Fun Fact: David’s competitive spirit shines both on and off the field. As a standout baseball player at Tulane University, he hit a memorable walk-off home run against Ole Miss in the bottom of the 10th inning, a defining moment that exemplifies his drive and determination—qualities he now brings to his legal career.

David will focus on civil litigation, continuing to work alongside our seasoned attorneys on complex legal matters.
